The 4th Of July

We celebrated a wonderful 4th of July yesterday. Lance and I decided that we were tired of traveling so much lately and we wanted to stay home. Since the 4th of July means family, and our family is out of town, we invited everyone to come to our house. And Wenatchee does have the best fireworks around in my opinion. And it is so reminiscent of when we got married since we were married here on the 5th of July! My mom, Lance's parents and his Grandma Young were able to make it. My mom came a little early so we could get a little of her shopping done. While we did that Lance made a sandbox for Cooper. He absolutely LOVES it. He played for and hour and a half and cried like it was the end of the world when I made him come in for a nap. Here a are a few pictures of him playing in the sand. Doesn't he look cute in his hand me down 4th of July outfit from his cousin?

And yes, his sandbox is in an old wagon. We picked it up at a garage sale a few years ago and it was almost dead then. But it only cost $3. We used it all spring with Cooper who loved it well, but it died a wagon's death. It's wheels were broken and couldn't be replaced. I finally convinced Lance that we should turn it into a sandbox and it seems to be working well. After all, we hadn't gotten all of our $3 out of it yet (that one is for you Manessa!)

After the sandbox fun, we had a BBQ and eventually went down to the park for fireworks. We got a wonderful spot right under the fireworks, so close it made me actually wonder if they would burn out before they landed on us. They did, of course! Cooper LOVED the fireworks and kept pointing to the sky for more when they were done. We used ear protection on him since we were so close. And it got quite cold so that is why we were so bundled up.
