How I Tourture My Son

I try as I may to be a nice and loving mother. In truth, I feel that I do an adequate job of it. And then those times come along when I wonder what in the world he thinks of me. Those times are coming at a regular interval these days, every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00 in fact. That is when I take Cooper to the YMCA for parent/child swimming lessons. Sounds great, doesn't it? Well, try and convince my son of it! He really is not amused in the slightest bit! He doesn't cry or fuss most of the time, but he has the most stoic, serious face the whole time he is in the pool. It is literally the only time he is ever awake when he is not happy and VERY energetic. One of the moms from swim lessons came over for a play date one day and couldn't believe what Cooper was really like! Here are some pictures of his swim lessons.

Cooper also had a tortuous doctor's appointment recently. So it wasn't that bad in reality but he did have to get four shots. He thought that was REALLY bad! He gained a grand total of 2 ounces this month but the doctor wasn't really worried as he showed her how he likes to run around like a crazy man. And he showed off for her and pointed to her mobile and said "preey, preey, da-ie" (pretty, pretty doggie). So they were really donkeys, but hey, she was impressed. She actually said he was EXCEPTIONAL! But of course, what else would you expect from Cooper?! The morning after his shots he woke up with a fever of 104.2 and scared the crud out of me. But a little Tylenol lowered it 102 where it stayed for the morning and by evening it was gone completly. A little side affect from the shots. He's a trooper though, so it didn't slow him down much!
